Message from Owner

I lost my cat, and I’m desperately seeking help to find him. He’s been out in the streets with his little friend, and he’s also neutered. My mom and I have been searching for him every day, leaving food out for him. I’m so worried about him I miss him dearly. I genuinely hope he finds his way home safely. I miss my boy cat.

Celia Carcaci O'Brien Keep the door ajar, Stay near the door. Don't chase kitty if he comes near you. Let kitty come to you. Stay low to the ground and don't look kitty in the eye. You can do this! Good luck!! Many, many came home during the night when it's quiet and safe!

Outside cat? Check sides of streets, under bushes or other hiding places in case he was hit by a car. He might be stuck inside a shed or garage. Are there loose dogs, coyotes (yes, even in a city) or sick people that dont like cats in your neighborhood?

Shared. Assuming he is strictly an indoor cat: He is likely hiding somewhere very nearby, on your own property or very near. It is rare for an indoor cat to go further than a house or two away. He is terrified and will not come out or respond to your calls. If he comes out at all it will only be at night. Look for him after dark with a flashlight. Look in every tiny space he could possibly squeeze himself into. The flashlight will let you see the glow of his eyes. Put out his litter, some worn clothing with your scent (pillowcases work great, worn socks) and some stinky food (tuna, sardines, KFC). Leave scent trails to your door with something like tuna juice or chicken broth. Indoor cats get lost very easily. In their fear they become disoriented and can’t find their way back to your door even though they are right on your property. But they have a VERY strong sense of smell. Do these things and they will help your baby find his way back to your door. If it’s feasible, leave the door ajar for him. Your indoor cat doesn’t know your house from the outside, but he knows it from the inside. Every house has a smell, and yours smells like “home”. If you leave the door ajar, he will smell it and run right in. Another thing you can do is sleep outside. A few people have done that recently with great success. Best of luck!
