Message from Owner

Our 9-year-old orange cat Amur went missing at 16 Elliot Terrace late on Wednesday, August 12. We had just brought him back from a long trip, and he might have been disoriented when he went outside. He is very shy of strangers, and we hope that he might just be hiding somewhere in the vicinity. Please let us know if you see an orange cat around where you live! We’d be so grateful for any help we can get in finding him. Amur is a fairly large male, with a light-orange shorthair coat. He is microchipped and registered on Petlink. Please text or call if you see any sign of him!

Place worn clothes or bedding outside and search at night with a flashlight and shake treats In event of rain cover lightly with tarp or plastic trash bag Indoor cats usually stay within a 3 hse radius put up flyers. Best thing in any move is to keep cat inside as long as possible to acclimate to new residence

Put some of your clothes out where the cat got out. Call animal control and if not back by tonight, take a flashlight and look for eyes, everywhere. Shake a treat bag.

Most likely your cat is near by. These are steps you should follow.....1) Sprinkle lots of cat nip near the door he got out from and your yard.2) Leave an unlaundered Tshirt or article of clothing(someone mentioned socks) near the door. 3) Go outside and call him frequently or when possible....especially at night when there is less traffic noise. 4) Pass out flyers with his picture and your phone number on it, put in peoples mailbox's and talk to as many neighbors as possible (this is how I got my cat back, years ago). 5) go out in the evening around your neighborhood....look closely under bushes, porch steps etc.... using a FLASH LIGHT. Cats eyes will shine like reflectors when the light is used. 6) Put real TUNAFISH outside near your door. 7)Please do not put the litter box outside. It will attract predators like coyotes.8)Don't give up!
