Message from Owner

Our white cat Ghost snuck out while we were moving boxes inside the hse. She bounded for the tree line and disappeared. On Friday night, we saw her near the parking loti of the Our Lady Of Victory Maronite Church, near their new construction on the hillside. She ran away again before we could get close. We've been walking the extended neighborhoods with flashlights the past couple nights to no avail. (We apologize for the lights and motion on your Rings.) We're worried about her eye and her general health, we're new to the area. The kids are devastated. If you have any tips or sightings, please reach out. Thanks for your time.

***If cat is fixed and inside only*** ❤️Honestly - the magic time is 11p-6a in spring/summer (8pm-6am in fall/winter) - when no humans are outside.❤️ That is when they feel comfortable coming out of hiding. *Sit on steps/porch by where cat escaped - talk softly. Let cat come to you. Avoid eye contact. *Lost pets will not act "normally" - they are in survival mode. *Don't give up ©️ Tina Marie

***If cat is fixed and indoor only*** PLEASE read & follow tips: 🔥These suggestions I learned when my cat was lost - I was doing the opposite in most cases - and many years of animal rescue🔥 *During the day - sit for a while on a porch/steps and talk softly - to a friend/family member or to the kitty. Many times they recognize family voices and will come out of hiding. Shaking a favorite cat treat container may entice. If you see it, don't jump up to grab the cat - let it come to you. Pretend to cry. *Go out when dark with a flashlight and look under/over/behind/inside EVERYTHING near your house - a flashlight will make a hiding kitty's eyes glow. *MANY cats are recovered sitting on a porch LATE at night when no one is outside and they feel comfortable coming out of hiding (spring/summer 11p-6am or fall/winter - as early as 8p or 9p-6am) & talking softly. 💥2a-4am magic hrs💥 *They go into survival mode and hide. Don't yell the cat's name - speak softly. Inside cats are usually found hiding (under a tarp or deck) or trapped (in a garage, shed, etc) within a 5 home radius. Ask neighbors to check. *Put an old baby monitor next to dry food - you will hear when food is being eaten. Smelly food may help (tuna in oil, sardines, rotisserie chicken). *Cats can smell up to a mile away. Place a piece of dirty clothing (the stinkier the better!) or a blanket they sleep on outside. *Leave a garage door/window open slightly if possible - just enough that kitty could return on it's own. *Put sign in front of house, in case someone took in assuming cat was a stray. *Don't give up❣ ©️ Tina Marie

Is kitty fixed and indoor only?? If so...probably hiding scared under something nearby! Go outside any time right now and into the wee hours of the morning with a flashlight and look under things to see eyes glowing. If you get another sighting consider setting up a trap in that location but it must be monitored. Indoor fixed kitties rarely go far and are usually found hiding scared nearby. Look under everything...porches, decks, sheds, cars, bushes, etc. Look at night and into the wee hours of the morning with a flashlight to see eyes glowing. Ask/tell neighbors. Flyers =sightings. Consider using a humane trap ASAP. Please no litter box outside because it can attract predators and potentially keep your kitty from returning. Prayers for a safe return. If you're able you can also try leaving a door, garage door or window cracked open to let kitty come back in. A video doorbell or trail camera can be helpful to see if kitty is coming around when you're sleeping.
