Knock on neighbours doors and put out flyers everywhere. Do offer rewards. Also go out in the night. You can hear him better then. Check the pounds too. Airtags on collars help greatly.

If needed:- TRY PET DETECTIVE UK‼️ PETS REUNITED ‼️ PET GUIDE APP ‼️ DRONE FOR MISSING PETS‼️ I seem to post multiple times a day in relation to missing cats.. 😪 It just doesn’t seem safe for cats on the streets these days.. 😔 Quite a long one but in hope it’s useful.. ❤️ You’ve probably done lots of the following but just Hoping to help you find your gorgeous cat ❤️ I copied and paste from a lady’s great advice from a post on here.. Don’t give up and really hope your gorgeous cat is reunited with you very soon 🙏 ❤️ FAMILIAR smells leave outside used cat litter sprinkled around the garden, never a litter tray or other cats will use it and stop your cat coming home Trainers,, Insoles,, Slippers, Socks, Stinky cat blanket not on the ground maybe pegged on line away from other cats CONSIDER WHY THEY ARE MISSING THINK LIKE A CAT A CAT USED TO GOING OUTSIDE: something has happened to interrupt the cat’s behaviour of coming home. Cats are territorial and do not just run away from home. Something will have spooked the cat and it has bolted out of its familiar territory and ended up in a garden it has never been in before. Cats just hide mostly when scared. They don’t just wander around. 1. A SOUND - Cats have extremely acute hearing and are naturally terrified of loud noises such as thunder, a car horn, a dog barking, a refuse lorry coming down the road emptying bins. The younger the cat the more easily they are scared by noises and bolt. 2. A LOCAL BOLD and DOMINANT CAT – will size up to a more timid cat to exert control over the territory. 4. An UN-NEUTERED MALE CAT will scare off all local cats in his endless searching over miles seeking a female. His instinct is to dominate in all territories and intimidate and fight with all local cats. INDOOR ONLY cat who has escaped is very different, it will be MUCH CLOSER to home in the first hiding space it can find. It will be terrified finding itself suddenly outside. It will hide immediately very nearby but too panicked to respond to being called. A cat NEW TO AN AREA through moving house or being re-homed will also find being outside frightening and will hide away • The majority of cats 75% were found within 500 metres (1/3 of a mile) of their home (or escape point). Indoor only cats were closest to home often up to 10 houses distance. INDOOR CATS will stay very close by hiding it is important that they have access to be able to get back in the house or a shed with bedding and food all on this list also apply CONTACT Vets within 20 mile radius, if microchipped advise company they may supply you with free posters *check details are up to date* KNOCK ON DOORS 200M radius of home ask if you can do the search of garden and outbuildings and garage look in/under behind everything lots of cats are trapped and will not come out for strangers Search Google maps where in 200m area can a cat hide or visit buildings warehouses graveyards, businesses shops building sites play areas search and poster these areas A lot of cats are eventually found within 2/3 streets away from home CHECK in Gardens/under Decking/Outbuildings under Cars Hedges up Trees Between Houses Sheds etc Cats can get wedged there and frightened cats do not make a sound Check if any neighbours have Ring or CCTV Check if any Vacant properties have they managed to get shut in Check if you or neighbours have had any deliveries has cat got into van? SEARCH late at night Early morning proven best time 3-4am it is a time of night cats feel safe and will hear you, only call and shake treats when walking back towards home so as to not drive further away Take a torch to shine on you and not your cat take something familiar to shake, biscuits, toy with a bell SIT in your garden in the early hours when quiet and open a tin of something smelly sardines, tuna put house light on sit and call softly and wait they may hear you and smell food ANY cats missing for more than 6 days will be in a state of panic ALSO He/she may be trapped …when posting flyers through doors ask people To really search in sheds, garages, summerhouses etc and behind crates, pallets, boxes, anything stashed against the walls. WARN them a frightened cat may keep still and quiet and not dash out when the door is opened ARE there clumps of brambles or scrub nearby where cat maybe stuck? Call when quiet and wait for a response RENOVATIONS OR BUILDING DEVELOPMENTS nearby Ask the site foreman or someone there to check onsite and in homes cats have been found under floorboards and trapped in part and finished houses CREATE some posters with picture detailed description when and area/road missing from and phone number but NOT actual address Put through doors and posters up near to schools, nurseries, Drs surgeries and Surrounding roads 200m to start with CONTACT local council to see if they have picked up cat from roadside better to know councils should keep records of cats picked up SOCIAL Media your timeline/Groups/Pages make sure your cat is visible to Everyone & remember not everyone uses social media ADVERTS POSTERS and FLYERS are a MUST ALSO contact Local CATS PROTECTION , ANIMAL WELFARE ANIMALSEARCH UK ALSO CHECK SELLING SITES GUMTREE ETC

Hi If you haven’t already done so, please also put something with their scent and your scent, such as their bedding, hoover contents etc outside to help your pet follow the scent home. Also, get neighbours to check out buildings. If you have a smartphone, Nextdoor is a good app to download to send alerts to users in your neighbourhood. Peg out some clothes aswell with a scent in it as it allows them to follow the scent home. I hope she is home soon x

I apologize as this is a lengthy read and there may be some repetition. I’ve copied and pasted 2 posts with some great tips I’ve seen others post in the past: Leave the door or window that he escaped from slightly open or at least be close to it or use a baby monitor so we that you can hear him should he return on his own. Put smells of home nearby (your used pillow/pillowcase, dirty laundry). If you have a garage, leave the door open about 8". Sprinkle the contents of your vacuum bag around the door he escap no ed from and wherever direction you think he went. Cats are most active at dusk and dawn and get more brave when there is less noise and people. The vacuum contents, dirty laundry (used bedding has lots of scent) will help to get him back into home territory Physically search your yard and your neighbours yards. Cats move along the edges of buildings, hedges and landscaping. Start looking both left and right of where he escaped. Search under hedges, bushes, long grasses, under decks, porches, sheds and BBQ and patio furniture covers, ditches, under or up inside trailers and cars. They like to huddle on the inside edges of tires and are hard to spot there. Indoor only cats typically hide in SILENCE. You could be standing right next to them and calling and they will most likely not come out. They instinctively hide to protect against predators and aggressive cats. Cats have detached collar bones, so if a cat's head can fit into a gap (about the size of your fist), so can the rest of the cat! Look for gaps under porches and decks. Use a flashlight to search hidden areas even in the daytime. If you can't see inside (under a deck for example) put your cellphone inside the hole and take a video of the whole area inside or use an inspection camera. Cats move around so be sure to continue to search the same hiding spots. Mine was found under a bush by the door even though I had checked there often! Kitties are more brave at night when the sounds of traffic and people quiet down. Actively search at night with a good strong flashlight. Their eyes make excellent reflectors at quite a distance! Don't forget to look up in the trees. Most are found after dark between dusk and dawn. Use the daylight hours to let all the neighbours know and ask permission to search their yards and sheds. Remember that cats can easily travel under and over fences, so define your search area to include a radius of 2-3 houses surrounding where she escaped to start and expand the area if he isn't found. He may have snuck into a shed or garage. A scared cat may hide and not meow or come out, so you need to actually look under, behind and on top of shelves and equipment. Ask to do this yourself, as your neighbour may not be thorough. Don't frantically call your cat. Instead go outside at dusk or later in your yard and your immediate neighbour's yards while talking on your phone or with a family member. Bring a plate of smelly food or treats. I use tuna or sardines with a bit of hot water on it to make it extra stinky. Walk around slowly. Don't go too far or move too fast. Stay in each area for awhile and turn every few minutes so your voice carries in a different direction. Listen periodically for faints mews. Hopefully he will be reassured and come out of hiding. If you see your lost cat, do not chase or try to grab him. Sit down on the ground to make yourself smaller. Try to lure him closer to you with food. Keep your voice soft and don't make any sudden moves. He will be very anxious and may not recognize you right away. Be sure to let him smell you before you attempt to pet or pick up. If you decide to pick him up, be sure to hang on tight and don't let go no matter what! Here are some good tips people gave me when they found their lost cats: I know this is a lot to read but please read it it will help you find your kitty Don’t wait until your kitty comes home. The most important thing is go out there right away talking to neighbors and ask if you can check their garages and sheds under sheds, under stairs, decks, trees and uonder bushes and your own backyard, under cars and up trees another cat was found in a garage also check everywhere in your house. Also check in your house in drawers under couches some were found inside the couch behind the fridge and in basement. Cats don’t make a sound when they are scared. your kitty might be locked in somewhere. and putting up posters everywhere even a few streets over and on the end of your drive way with a picture of your cat and your info not everybody is on facebook. . Put a piece of clothing and shoes that you have worn and a cardboard box and food put it outside leave your garage door and basement window open a bit. Have a trail of treats going to your house. Contact Trackers Edge they are on facebook and helped many cats get back home. Use a toy on a string cats like to play and a laser pointer. Some cats came home between 2 am and 5 am. Take posters with your info to all shelters even outsite your area and vets in person and check them every few days; they may identify a male cat as a female cat at shelters and check kijiji and check and join every facebook site in your area people share and comment on them. Not everybody likes cats and they will not check their sheds and garages nor post lost cats. When cats are scared, they don’t make a sound Check construction sites some cats were found in unfinished basements. recently lost cats were found locked in a shed, a garage, stuck under sheds, decks stairs and crawlspace and couldn’t get out. on a window sill, and in a neighbour's basement, in the attic and in a neighbour's car engine , window wells in empty houses and under cars under tarps one was found locked in a camping trailer one was found in a mattres in the house. Someone found her cat DOWN IN A 5 FOOT DRAIN ON NEIGHBOR'S PROPERTY. Some cats get disoriented and can’t find their way home extend your search a few streets over. best times to go look for your cat are dusk or first light. Take a flashlight with you, cats' eyes will reflect back at you. BE CALM ..POSITIVE ..CALL LIKE YOU SEE THEM ..CALL VERY SOFTLY ... CALL OFTEN .. SHAKE TOY TREATS. . Some cats came home between 2 am and 5 am. Some people said the cat came home when the emptied the vacuum cleaner on their lawn. Cats were found between 10 and 20 km away from home please extend your search a few streets over with posters. Some cats were gone for weeks and month and were found so please don’t give up your kitty is out there waiting for you. Also every town has a TNR they feed feral and stray cats find out where they are and check a lot of cats were found at the feeding stations. Good luck I pray your will find your kitty. Is there any places they can get into the ceilings? Or even open vent work? Also check closets or washer/dryer if there is any chance it was left open just a bit. Couches and box springs are another popular place for them to hide. They can be very sneaky! This is what this lady said--- Wow so thanks to everyone advice I literally shook the contents of the vacuum into the air in the backyard softly called her name and sat down shaking some treats 5 mins later I hear a faint meow and she appeared. I now swear by the vacuum at dusk trick. Thank you everyone. Hopefully my neighbors dont think I'm crazy. I've been in their backyards all day. And then shaking the contents of the vacuum into the wind. Lol i cant thank you all enough. A lady said she used my tips and found her kitty under a shed. Another lady made a scent trail with an old smelly tshirts to lure him from the ravine to the front door. This lady said I did the vacuum thing and shook the treats. 3 mins later I heard meowing. Sprinkle catnip around the yard. PLEASE NEVER GIVE UP. I pray you will find your kitty

Notify the identichip company, check your details are up to date. Notify immediate Vets in your area. Your familiar voice calling when it is dark and silent outside, it may take her a little time to respond if she has wandered a way, but sound travels further in the quiet of the night. If it’s unusual behaviour, ask neighbours’ to check thoroughly their garages and outbuildings for her.

Here are some things to try and help find a lost cat. If Indoor - cats do not go far and often hide down low and close by. If Outdoor and neutered - Scared/Spooked cats also usually hide close by so call throughout the night from dusk to dawn shaking treats or take warmed up food as the smell travels further and cats will often try to return home between 1am - 4am when its dark/safe and quiet. Take a torch out searching as it will reflect their eyes. Also search right in the thick of bushes as cats are masters at hiding if theyve been hurt. Do knock on all the doors in the surrounding area asking people to check their gardens/under bushes/sheds/garages. If no joy then print posters to put through doors with photo on and asking people to check their gardens/outbuildings as not everyone is on social media so some folk wont know to check and cats may be hiding or stuck in somewhere. I hope your cat is home asap 🙏

Scatter the contents of your hoover bag around the outside boundary of your home - they can scent their way home from miles away, using the familiar smell of your home. If putting out clothing make sure that it hasn’t been washed so that it smells of “you”. Going out late at night/ early morning when it is quieter and less noise distraction around will make it easier for you to hear each other’s calls. If you are calling for him make sure you do this as you walk towards your home not away from it so that if he follows the direction of your voice you’re leading him home, not further away. Also ask any neighbours to check their sheds/ outbuildings in case he’s been inquisitive and got trapped inside somewhere. If he is an indoor cat he is likely scared and hiding somewhere very close by - look under/behind any items/objects that he may be seeking shelter from - under bushes, behind bins etc. when searching at night take a torch - the light from its beam will reflect in his eyes and you will be able to spot him even if he doesn’t respond to your calls. Put up posters in all surrounding streets and inform the microchip company that he is missing. Really hope you find him soon.
