How did the kitty get lost/escape? Microchipped ? Depending how you think what the escape route is - first check your apartment in detail - furniture's, closets and furniture's that were moved - especially out of the apartment. If escaped outside please follow these instruction so chances to get the kitty back are increased. If you are sure kitty escaped outside, go immediately outside and call in the evening./ early morning and if possible leave a scent from you nearby.. If indoor / outdoor cat it might have been travelling further away - so put FLYERS EVERYWHERE - also in hallway of buildings, include REWARD offer WITHOUT AMOUNT (at the beginning), EXPAND LISTING and SEARCH to more lost and found pages like (1)nextdoor.com, (2)lostmydoggie.com, lostmykitty.com (3)petamberalert.com, (4)lostpetfoundpet.org, (5)petharbor.com (6)helpinglostpets.com, and other neighborhood related Lost Dogs, Cats, and Pets websites. INFORM supers/doormen, neighbors, mail carriers and garage clerks personally. LEAVE also FLYERS around your area at vet clinics, other frequently visited public places and also especially where are spaces/basements, yards to hide and it's warm. FILE lost / found report AT POLICE STATIONS around your area and also ONLINE at ACC / OTHER SHELTER WEBSITES. Also, check with SHELTERS personally daily or every other day. Kitty might have been picked up by rescue or others or is locked into a basement or garage. Thus go on FB pages of rescue groups in your area and dog walker agencies to alert them. Monitor Craigslist in pet and lost & found section as well as adoption websites. Continue Go out in the evening/midnight and early mornings and make your rounds by calling him/her - especially escaped indoor cats normally stay close by if not threatened or chased. If cat very shy you might try a humane trap as well - contact rescues or ACC for this.
