When my boy went missing for three days, my vet encouraged me to create a scent trail to my home for him. I was told to put out his favorite bedding, toy, litter box cleaned or not, preferably all in a fence yard, or in the garage with the door up just enough for him to get in. He also said to put a used pillowcase of the owner and some old shoes of the owner out as well. He said during the day cats outside and sleep so he said the cat will be back at night time. Cats are nocturnal so don’t be looking for them during the day. My boy came home at 3:30 in the morning.
