Beware of people who will tell you they found your cat, but you have to message them on FB or text a code to a certain phone number. These are scams. A person who truly found your cat will not put conditions on you except maybe to show them proof of ownership, like pictures. Also, people will tell you how they used a recovery/search agency to find their pet. Also, a scam to take your money. Those services are not even in the TriState. This article has great tips to help you with your search and for understanding lost cat behavior. Make lots of flyers to pass out to all your neighbors. Ask them to check their security cameras and keep watch for your cat moving through their yard at night by way of the cameras.
