If you find a pet: If someone claims her require proof of ownership. Dogs will react to owner, owner will have pictures. Even if you just see a dog loose, and cant act, report to animal control nearest to where pet was found and have checked for micro chip. Fayette Co animal control is 859 255-9033. Some people don't have Facebook and owners will look at animal control for their pets. If you can't hold please take to the shelter in county where found. Plus post to Lost and Found Pets of Lex, and post to Pawboost, and next door. Scroll through Lost and Found Pets of Lex and Pawboost to see if pet reported missing. Please take to animal control, and remember, a loose cat might be a neighbor’s indoor/outdoor cat. Remember to ask for proof of ownership before handing over. The following is in no way directed at you personally, it is a standard comment i always include: For your own protection, if someone wants the pet or suggests you keep it, be aware of the laws concerning keeping/rehoming a found pet. Sondra Griffin Blevins if people spayed and neutered their pets, shelters wouldn't be at capacity right now. Please don't spew ignorance about this subject. And honestly, some people today need to be told how to raise their kids!

In case the person who has the dog can’t take it to be scanned etc, maybe someone else can take the dog to be scanned, and then if it doesn’t have a chip, maybe take to a shelter or just foster it and see if the owner is found. I don’t live in Lexington, or I’d help.
