Shared. If you have not yet done ALL these things, do them now. If you have, do them again and go further in your search. Notify Mississauga Animal Services and check their website for found cats. Carefully check around your home and property, focusing on small, hidden spots like closets, dresser drawers and hidden nooks and crannies in garages, sheds, basement etc. IF s/he's an unspayed female in heat she may have been chased by intact males (or vice versa if Pumpkin is an intact male} and have trouble finding her/his way back home. Search all nearby shrubs, bushes and trees, window wells, garages and sheds. Ask nearby neighbours to do the same. Alert local vet offices, rescues and shelters. Alert local feral cat feeders who may spot her/him searching for food. Leave her/his used litter and some food and water in hidden places near the door she/he left NOW and check later this evening and after dark. See Pawboost for more ways to find and sample posters. Put a notice in nearby neighbours mailboxes, post on local notices boards, in community centres, churches and schools. Go out after dark bring food and treats, search a 5+ block radius, stop periodically and softly call but do not make any loud noises or sudden moves. Lost cats are terrified and do not recognize their owner as safe.

PUMPKIN is adorable. Now let’s find him. He will be very nervous and likely hiding not far from your home. When you’re out searching this evening take a flashlight with you. The light will shine off his eyes and makes it easier to locate him. Look under every veranda and bush and any tiny place he may be hiding. Ask your neighbours to search their garage and under their porch or perhaps they will allow you to. He may have also climbed up a tree, so look there as well. Take a bag of treats and shake them while calmly calling his name. Put up posters and contact shelters in your area every 3 days to see if he has been turned in. If you haven’t yet gotten him micro chipped, please do, so should this happen again he can be returned to you. GOOD LUCK ❤

Go out around 2AM with smelly food or treats and call softly for her. Have neighbors check sheds and garages. Post lots of signs. Also a good idea to stick notes through your neighbour’s door or mailbox for them to check their properties.

Maybe they could try putting flyers in the doors of the houses on the street around them asking people to keep an eye out. It draws their attention to the fact that he’s missing and not just an outdoor cat walking around. They can call or text with updates of sightings. . It worked twice for us over the years and many others have commented that it’s how they found their cat. Hope your kitty is home soon ! 😊 I’ve also seen people comment to put their blanket or an article of your clothing outside the door they left from so they can follow the scent back home.

Check the Mississauga Animal Services website- found pets section, in case she’s found and turned in to their shelter. Put up posters all over the neighbourhood. Go out and walk the area at night while calling for her and shaking a bag of treats. They can hear you better at night and usually aren’t too far from home. Good luck!
