Shared. Post Bear on Nextdoor as well and check frequently for updates on both websites. Check the shelters frequently, in person is best. And file a missing report when you go in. Contact local rescue groups just in case. Not everyone checks social media, post flyers in the area. Include veterinary offices and pet stores when you post the flyers. Ask your neighbors to check their garages, back yards, storage sheds, under porches and parked vehicles, etc. Be there with a carrier and a bag of Bear's favorite treats. Shake the bag while calling out to him. Keep your voice calm; any stress in your voice will alert him to stay hidden. Check around the neighborhood thoroughly, especially out of the way places. Keep in mind that cats can squeeze themselves into very tight spaces. So if in doubt, check it. Search areas where Bear might look for food, water, and shelter (like the dumpster area of a restaurant for example). Search when it's quieter outside, like the time right before it gets dark. Take a flashlight, the carrier, and the bag of treats. Good luck 💓

Please read the advice shared on the Missing Animal Response Network. They have a page specific to lost cat behavior. https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-cat-behavior/ If you have not already, visit neighboring homes and ask them to look into their garages and outbuildings, checking multiple times while sitting patiently, and quietly. Cats get scared when in strange places and won't necessarily bolt for the door when it is opened, and might not even run to a familiar person if they happen to be present. Also, post flyers - don't rely upon everyone having access to on-line posts. Check every logical and illogical place your cat may have gotten into on your property, to name just a couple: cabinets/drawers — high and low; in garages/bats/sheds. Don’t forget to check in with local vets and animal shelters. Some have had success with placing a humane trap in their backyard - luring kitty in with a serving of their regular food; also with leaving clothing/blankets with your and/or their scent. Finally, for any reading this, please keep a bowl of water (ideally freshened every 2-3 days) in your garages/outbuildings for those instances when a neighborhood critter happens to find themselves trapped. Good luck, I hope to read a positive update on Bear soon!
