Message from Owner

Elsie is a gentle homebody who always sits outside the front door. I let her out and 5 minutes later just gone. I am besides my self. She is my little shadow and always comes when I call her. I have walked the neighborhood and can’t find her. She is not an outside cat and I’m beyond worried. This is Not like her at all!!!! I need my baby girl ! She is microchipped to NJ but I live in Florida now. Please help!

Post on Nextdoor and Ring apps. Ask neighbors to check car hoods, garages and sheds immediately. Make sure to tap hoods of the car around. Keep an entryway open for cat to get in. Buy or loan a live cat trap from online stores or local tnr groups. Leave your garage open with cat to enter. Put some food and your clothing there for smell. Get a motion sensor camera to detect when cat is around your property

Look at night with a flashlight while calling her name. Look especially under bushes and in neighbors yards garages and sheds. Look up in trees, Leave something outside with her scent on it like her bedding. Leave something outside with your scent on it like an unwashed piece of clothing. Leave out smelly cat food. Hang signs with her photo. Call and visit local shelters and veterinary offices. Good luck!🍀

You can purchase a trap from Tractor Supply or Home Depot or Amazon or see if you can borrow or rent one from a local rescue or TNR group. Put a piece of your clothing with your scent on it inside and some wet food and set the trap and cover it with a towel (they feel more secure hidden) and monitor it.🙏❣️ remember kitties are naturally nocturnal, so they will hide during the day and move at night time looking for a food source or trying to get home. This is when most of us are sleeping. That's why the trap is ideal. Monitor the trap. If you catch a critter go ahead and release it and wash the trap and reset. They leave a smell behind which may deter your baby from going in. If you catch another kitty, you can always take it to a local vet or shelter for a free chip check and you might be able to help return someone else's missing baby home.♥️ also get a big sign in the front yard so in case someone does have or sees this baby and does not see this post, they can contact the owner that way. Also get lots of signs posted in the neighborhood. Keep checking on your local county FB group pages. You can search the group by "cat" to see all the cat posts only💗

Keep searching every 1-2 hours with flashlights and a box of treats or food to shake. Look everywhere including in and under vehicles, in storm drains, bushes, on roofs, in garages, sheds, porches, up trees, in and around dumpsters, in alleys, in backyards. Check repeatedly online on Nextdoor, Ring Neighbors, Ring Rescue, Petco Love Lost, the Humane Society, and the pound. Put up a large brightly-colored sign in your front yard. Post colorful flyers everywhere including group mailboxes, street posts, windshields, school and church fences, Publix, Petsmart, Petco. Take some door-to-door and to veterinary offices and animal hospitals.
