Oh my goodness, how did a six month old kitten get outside? Cats should not be left outside unattended. That is exactly how they get into trouble! Searching for him is the fastest way to get him back. Sad seeing so many kitties go missing just this week. Poor baby, he must be so scared and hungry out on his own. When a cat goes missing, they can’t easily find their way home using only their scent. You must be proactive and look for them. Look under cars, bushes & hedges, look for glowing eyes w/flashlight, call his name at dusk when it’s quiet and they come out from hiding to eat.Posting is important, but please be proactive and search for him, too. They don’t go far, 3-4 houses away, they stay in one place until they are scared off by dogs, coyotes, or loud noises. The challenge is finding him before he gets further away. Please hang flyers near the area he went missing, it’ll let your neighbors know you’re looking for him and get the immediate attention from pedestrians and drivers. You’re the one that can bring him home safely, he’ll recognize your voice, footsteps and your scent. Post on ND, check SDHS Lost & Found daily. If you’re able to find him, PLEASE, please don’t let him out unattended. Cats have the intelligence of a 3yo, they don’t know the dangers, they face outdoors with coyotes, dogs, cars, and worst of all evil people who taunt or injure cats. It only takes an hour to train a cat on a leash, then he can be outdoors safely with you. 🐈‍⬛ Good luck finding this gorgeous little guy 🐾💙🐾

Michelle MacLennan Thank you, these stories of found pets give me hope. Our neighborhood definitely has many places where a scared kitten would run to hide. Thank you for the tips and advice. I appreciate it.

I recommend you look in close neighbours outbuildings we found ours in backyard neighbor RV- they had looked but he hid we found him 3 days later he was fine but I hate to think if we hadn’t. Just have a flyer with you and kindly ask to have a quick look so you can call out to him as cats frequently hide when frightened. I hope kitty is home 🔜 🙏2 cats found by their owners recently one in a garage and other in a shed. At neighbors 👍boots on the ground people will be kind if you ask for their help. Call your local pound and leave a door open 👍look up into trees bring flashlight you will see the eyes 2 cats found be their owners today locked in neighbours basement and another in neighbours shed!!! Basement was after 3 weeks gone!
