Debbie Hess oh I getchya! I meant “highly adoptable” in the current climate. I probably should have said, “easy to place.”

Kris Weber MOST of the dogs they are ALL 'highly adoptable'. The problem is with the pathetic HUMANS wanting to adopt them...they want the 'highly desirable' ones. There's a MASSIVE difference. So in that concept, you are correct. There are THOUSANDS of BEAUTIFUL, SWEET, SMART, LOVING, GOOFY, ATHLETIC, ENTERTAINING, UNIQUE Shepherds, Pitties, Huskies, Rotties, Chihuahuas, and incredible mixes with OUTSTANDING personalities, but people don't even bother giving them a chance. They're COMPLETELY OVERLOOKED...😭💔🤬 Some don't get a second look when people are perusing the shelter or their website or even get ONE lousy inquiry before they get euthanized...it's HEARTBREAKING...yet others will have a line out the door just WAITING for that dog to come onto the adoption floor. It's heartbreaking, embarrassing, and SHAMEFUL. People like that aren't really dog lovers...they DEFINITELY aren't adopting a dog to SAVE A WORTHY LIFE...they're cherry picking what THEY want. Then rescuers like me spend our lives, our time, our emotions, and our money desperately trying to save all of the overlooked, 'just another' shepherd, pittie, husky, rottie, unique mixes who are some of the ABSOLUTE VERY BEST dogs out there...WITHOUT A DOUBT...overflowing with loads of smarts, love, loyalty, and personality. But too many will never see or know that because they will stand in line for the 'popular, highly desirable' dogs, even if the dog is NOWHERE NEAR as incredible as these overlooked 'dime a dozen' ones are. It's so wrong and incredibly heartbreaking, but yes, you are right...THIS dog WILL be safe. THIS dog will have 25 calls regarding availability before he's even off of his stray hold. Then there will either be a long line or a lottery to be able to adopt him. If only ALL dogs received that...😭💔🤬 It's so shameful that humans want to be treated, respected, and not judged for things like ethnicity, gender, race, religion, monetary status, looks, size, etc...one human race...and yet the majority of HUMANS ABSOLUTELY do the opposite of what they supposedly stand up for. I don't mean to be bitter on this subject, it's just that I've been doing dog rescue for over 40 years now...LONG, LONG, LONG before the advantages of FB rescue to get the word out there for these poor, failed dogs. And as much as the internet can HELP these dogs find worthy homes and options, the WORLD has gotten waaay worse, backyard breeding is greedier than ever and beyond out of control, and the internet has hands down made it SOOO much easier for people to BUY and SELL dogs...leaving the now CATASTROPHIC dog dumping, dog abuse, and dog abandonment CRISIS...with most people walking away with ZERO repercussions...to irresponsibly and shamefully just leave the remaining dogs to just circle the drain with no end in sight. Any coincidence that these poor dog breeds are the same breeds whose idiot owners don't spay and neuter? NO responsibility. NO repercussions. Just like how the MAJORITY of homelessness isn't really a homeless problem at all, it's a DRUG problem...well, the homeless dog problem isn't a dog problem, either, it's a dog BREEDING and LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY problem. Society needs to start calling a spade a spade and to start holding these culprits responsible for the off-the-charts CATATROPHE they've caused. I know by your intelligent reply that you KNOW THIS. I'm mainly just venting now in hopes that others who MIGHT read this reply can THINK ABOUT IT and LEARN something. To look into their own souls and think about their selfish choices. God bless the animal rescuers...for they must always clean up after society. All I know is that if the shoe were on the other foot, dogs wouldn't adopt a human on their looks...or their pedigree...or their markings...or their desirability...or their financial worth...or their level of education...or their 'current popularity. No, dogs would just easily choose a person who was KIND to them...that's it...enough said. That's all they NEED...that's all they WANT...that's all they'll EVER need or want. In all reality, dogs are better humans than humans are. Thanks for letting me vent. If even ONE person will view things differently the next time they decide to add a dog to their family, it will be worth my time and energy...😎🐕💖

Debbie Hess, but are those dogs highly adoptable like this one? I know the euth numbers are very high at shelters throughout Southern California (or low only at shelters who turn their backs on strays and the community by closing intake and warehousing hard-to-adopt dogs for inhumanely long periods of time). But from what I’ve seen, even at very overcrowded shelters like the LA County shelters, highly desirable dogs like this one still get adopted quickly. It’s the Huskies and Shepherds and Bully breeds that get euthanized in staggering numbers no matter how friendly and healthy they are. But that’s because there are far more dogs of those breeds than people wanting to adopt them.
