If she found him in Florida and took him to Chicago that is illegal, there are lots of docks and rescuers in the area that this person has claimed to have found the dachshund. There's also a lot of breeders in that area of Polk County low Rider dachshunds.O

There are Dachshund rescues in every state. An adopter should know about the breed before adopting. They should never jump, avoid stairs, use a harness and NOT a collar! I would look for a reputable rescue! Otherwise, please have a fee, ask for permission to speak with potential adopter's veterinarian personally as a reference and do a home check. If adopter is a renter, verify pets are allowed. And most importantly educate them! Also, Doxies are very difficult to housebreak, especially males. They're my absolute favorite, tho!
