Please read that link I put in my comment. It talks about indoor/outdoor cats being chased out of their area and how to find them.
I hope you will keep him indoors if you get him back. There are more dangers than you might realize even if a cat stays in your yard. Foxes will chase your cat out of its known territory where he will then be lost, or perhaps chase them into a busy street. Fences do not keep foxes and coyotes out of your yard. People use rat and mice poison in their garages, etc., then cats eat the mice. A neighbor might not like the cat being outside so will take it in. I’m very sorry, I am just hoping you will keep him indoors where he is safe. I hope he is okay and you find him soon.
