Description

Red/White cat with short tail, blue eyes (slightly cross eyed), possibly intact male

Message from Finder

I have seen this cat roam around our neighborhood (High Point of Fort Pierce which is a gated community on the east side of US1, south of Edward’s Road) for several weeks. It is skittish but the hunger was bigger than the fear and I was able to feed it on my back porch. This cat has red/white fur, blue eyes (slightly cross eyed), the tail is short and only one fourth of normal length. I think that it’s an intact male but was hard to tell because the cat is skittish.

Barbara hi Barbara. it’s good to know you live there and to possibly have a contact there if there’s ever a problem (feel free to contact me anytime). my husband feeds the cats at our dumpsters in High Point almost every day. Ever since it got really cold in winter there are now only between three and five cats left. Before the cold snap in winter it was often well over 10 of them on a regular basis. There were lots of very sweet black and white tuxedo cats and also tabbys. I think there’s only one tuxedo left unfortunately. We hope that they didn’t succumb to the cold temperatures or something else sinister is going on there. I know they’re trapping raccoons constantly and told us to stop feeding the cats.. well that won’t happen. I know many people in our community want to get rid of these cats and they think they’re a nuisance… how cruel and horrible. The cats are certainly not a problem. This cat is definitely not one of the cats that usually hangs around the dumpsters. My husband would know since he feeds them once a day. This cat is “new” and probably not spayed or neutered (no clipped ear). I think pretty much all cats at the dumpsters have their ear clipped thanks to somebody in our community that does TNR. As far as I could tell it might be an intact male (unfortunately). I’ve just started to see this cat around our house in the last four weeks or so. This isn’t close to the dumpsters but in the middle of the community.

I live in Lakes of the Savannahs. There were stray cat's that were fed In High Point that were also spayed and neutered that stayed by the Dumpster as you go into the community. It could be one of those cats? I will share and thanks for feeding it.
