For lost cats here are some tips that have been said to work: * File a lost report with animal control and check nearby shelters *in person* and often. * Put wet/smelly food out in the evening. Pick it up during the day or if you notice it's attracting strays. * Put a trail of dirty litter from the box all along the edge of your yard and along trees and bush lines close by and along any trails. Do NOT out the entire litter box outside (this may draw predators). * Put out an unwashed article of your clothing or bedding. You can also make "scent strips" from these unwashed items and place them in trails leading to your door. * Go out in the evening with a flashlight and look in bushes, under porches, in sheds, storm drains & other exposed pipes etc. * Make chum trails leading to your door by using a can of canned tuna in water (no oil) or canned cat food and a gallon of warm water. Shake well and sprinkle in trails leading to your door. * Your cat will be most active between dusk and dawn. Trying shaking a bag of treats and softly calling your cat's name while searching with a flashlight to catch the reflection of your cat's eyes. * Get fliers up right away with phone number asking for sightings right away and ask neighbors to check garages, etc. * Most cats do not go far, especially those that are not used to spending time outdoors. Hope this helps! Fingers crossed !🤞🤞🤞 Sharing your post!

Tuxedo boys seem to be large.😂. he is a cutie,my tux is 18. Try this…. Please try these tips they have definitely helped others. Watch a tip video on youtube about how to find your lost cat, there are several. Post on Nextdoor. Also just heard about this site offering great useful tips so definitely check it out “lostcatfinder.com” Also, your kitty is probably not far away so the sooner the better, put out something of yours for scent, putting out the litter box is not recommended as it attracts unwanted critters that could possibly scare your cat off again, use your judgement . Look with flashlight early a.m. or late at night, calling and shaking food. That part is so important because those are the quiet hours and your cat would be more prone to coming out of hiding. put up flyers too. If you get any sightings use a trap, sometimes you can borrow from animal control or Amazon has them. I have recently heard some take smelly, oily fish (juice only) (sardines, tuna) and make a “smelly trail” around their house to help with scent. Dont give up too soon , i had one gone for weeks and as i was about to give up, and I found her. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 and shared. Also just heard someone used a trap with smelly food and got their cat back very quickly Good luck
