Message from Owner

My heart is broken. My sweet cat is missing, and I miss him more than I can put into words. I’m truly devastated and just want him safe. He is a very shy but incredibly gentle and loving boy. He may be too scared to come out, so he could be hiding quietly in small places like under porches, in grges, bushes, or sheds. He has respiratory issues, so I’m especially worried about him being out there alone. He needs care, and I need him back where he’s safe and loved. Please, if you see him, even for a moment, or hear anything at all, reach out to me right away. Every second matters. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me look for him. He means everything to me.

My sister-in-law recently found her cat after it was missing for three days. Lost cats often come out at night because they are afraid. My sister-in-law sat on her porch at night with a bowl of dry food softly calling her kitty's name. She checked back every 30 minutes each night and on the third night, her kitty was there. I would caution about leaving food out without frequent checks as it may bring predators. Also look up in trees at night with a flashlight looking for glint from their eyes. I hop your kitty is home soon!

Hope these tips help and your cat is home quickly; 1. Make sure to thoroughly check trees. 2 Stay outside looking ( even just sitting outside) as much and long as possible. 3 Check outside hiding places. 4 once cats get out and scared their feral instincts may kick in and she’ll be less likely to come out. Be patient and persistent 5 use flashlight at night to look for reflective eyes under bushes , decks, etc 6 post on Nextdoor 7 Leave posters at vets and shelters and surrounding neighborhoods 8 post on any local neighborhood fb pages 9 ask neighbors to check garages, sheds, under decks, trees, etc 10 while cats won’t typically track scent, they do know your scent. Put something you’ve worn by your doors as comfort when they get near

So sorry to hear that your cat is missing, here are some things that might help in your search. Put out things that smell like your cat, like their toys, bed, definitely their favorite food and water. And things that smell like you such as a shirt or blanket. Double check every place in your house, and garage, and in the bushes around your house. Cats will hide in the darndest places. Get flyers up in the area and make sure your neighbors are all aware to be on the lookout. Post on all the Lost Pet sites for where you live, and those will get shared. Constantly check with all of the animal shelters and they're posting a lot their intakes on Facebook. Also check with vets in the area. If your cat is micro chipped, which I hope it is, check with the microchip company in case somebody finds your cat . If you have Ring or other security cameras outside, check those, and ask neighbors if they can check theirs as well. And if you've heard about coyotes in the area, please don'it continue to let them outside. Please bring them inside and keep them inside to keep them safe going forward.
