Sharing your post. Meanwhile he is likely close by. Indoor cats hole up in the nearest place that feels safe, under or behind things, shrubs, decks, window wells. A humane trap with smelly food (and if possible a camera) could be a big help. Put your unwashed clothes out by your doors. (People will tell you to put out the litterbox - don’t do that, it can attract predators.) Put signs inside plastic sheet protectors on nearby poles. Tell your neighbors to check cameras and keep an eye out. Go out at night and call softly, shaking a recognizable treat bag or toy. Consider a laser toy light or flashlight to draw the cat’s attention. Best wishes.
