Description

Brown Tabby with Dark Stripes

Message from Owner

"Please help us bring Tiger home. Tiger is our brown tabby boy, with dark stripes, a soft tan muzzle and chin, and striped legs. He's been part of our family for years. He's the cat who curls up on the blanket next to you every night and follows you from room to room. He's gentle, friendly, and microchipped. At the end of August, during our move, Tiger was staying at a family member's home right next to the Black Forest Inn near Lock Haven. He got scared, hid up in the basement rafters, and wouldn't come down. We thought we'd be back for him in a few days. We haven't seen him since. We believe he slipped out through a window opening and may be hiding nearby, in a shed, garage, chicken coop, or under a porch. We've moved to Renovo, but we'll drive out any time, day or night, if there's any sign of him. If you live in the area, please take a quick look around your outbuildings. If a tabby has been hanging around or eating food you put out, please call or message us, even if you're not sure it's him. Please don't chase him. He's frightened and may run. Just let us know where you saw him. Our home hasn't felt the same without him. Thank you for reading, and for looking.

Cook chicken on the grill. Put catnip outside. Play YouTube videos of kittens crying and shine a laser cat toy around the bushes.

Do you know anyone where you used to live (where he escaped)? Have them leave open a garage door if possible. Cats will often hide during the day and move under the cover of darkness and sneak back into where they escaped from. I know it’s been a while so he could have traveled. You need to hang flyers. See if any neighbors have Ring/doorbell cameras or other cameras and ask them to check their footage to see if they see him. Also think about setting a humane trap. Many shelters or animal groups have them to loan. Do you know someone there that can keep an eye on the trap? Cover the trap with a blanket or something so it doesn’t look like a trap. Bait the trap with cat food. You have to constantly check the trap though. You might catch a wild animal and that is super stressful for the animal (just release it asap), plus, depending on outside temps, it can be dangerous (either freeze or o reheat). But, if you can have someone check a trap constantly or put a camera on it, it is a good way to catch your cat. You may have to camouflage the trap a bit with a blanket or tree branches. Traps can look scary.
