Rent or borrow a humane trap. The SPCA and other animal shelters rent them out for $100. When you return the trap you get your $100 back. Place the trap near where the cat escaped. Put some of the cat's favorite food and treats inside of the trap along with an article of your clothing with your scent on it. This method worked for me on two different occasions. If you trap the wrong cat or some other animal, put a blanket over the trap leaving the door exposed. Stand behind the trap and release the animal. Reset the trap. Time is of the essence so do this asap. Good luck and God bless.

put up as many flyers as you can in your neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods. it might feel hopeless, but it makes a huge difference. your cat is likely hiding or wandering close by in a neighbor's backyard. there may have already been sightings, but people won't know who to contact unless they see your flyers. if you get a sighting, go to that area and wait nearby. don’t get too close right away, as you will scare them off. try luring them with a smelly treat like wet food and calling their name gently. we found our cat after a week this way. he was in a neighborhood not too far away, and after getting sighting reports, we spent time (at all times possible) waiting in the car nearby and eventually lured him out with food. keep your hopes up. even if they've never been outside before, cats’ survival instincts are incredibly strong. best of luck 🙏

Put some of your dirty laundry outside. The smell will travel for miles and hopefully guide them back home on their ownđź’–
