Yes, this is a found post. He is a really nice puppy. I have him on the leash up here at my church. My priest and I were gonna take him to Peninsula Shelter to see if they could scan him. It is totally against my lease to take him home to my apartment. If he does not have a chip to be scanned, I will have to leave him there. Does anyone want to come get him from me? I will feel terrible leaving him up there because I know it isn’t a no kill shelter. I tried to call the vet in Hilton and they are closed. He definitely is less than 6 months old. He still has puppy teeth. He clean and has no fleas. The person that took him would need a fenced yard and probably a decent sized crate for him indoors. He just want to play. He will make a really nice dog for someone. He has stayed right here with me at church and been really good. He needs a chewy and has found a blanket in the office he tried to lay on. He is a tiny bit underweight. We are headed to the shelter here in a few minutes. Is there anyone able to foster him a few days while the owner is possibly located.

Likely the actual owners have checked Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter because that is where animal Control takes dogs picked up or reported as found

Holly Bautts Kidd unfortunately, it happens. From a validating article: "Van Zante said criminals don't adopt shelter dogs to use as bait because it's cost prohibitive, time-consuming, and most couldn't pass the vetting process." "Law enforcement officials said dog fighters looking for bait animals often search the web, classifieds such as Craigslist and other social media sites for pets that people are giving away."
