Today I received a call from a man claiming that he had found Batman. He told me to meet him at a gas station in Davenport, and full of happiness and hope, I went there. When I arrived and messaged him, he started demanding $400 to give Batman back to me. He had even sent me a photo of a cat that looked exactly like Batman inside a carrier. For a few minutes, I truly believed I had finally found him. 💔 It was all a scam. They used the information and photos I had posted while searching for Batman to give me false hope and try to steal money from me. I’m sharing this so other people searching for their missing pets can be very careful. Never send money without first seeing your pet in person and confirming that the person really has them. I’m still searching for my Batman, and I will not give up hope of finding him.

Mayorga Bibian, Batman should return as he has previously when he feels it's safe to come home -- this will probably happen overnight. This time it may be important for you to crack open the enclosure door (don't expect him to return through the hole you've attempted to patch), and place food at the door leading into the house, then watch from inside for him to return and settle on the food before opening the door. Please try this strategy overnight and if he's not home by morning let me know and I'll provide additional instructions. I'm hopeful for some good news.

Diana Ellis Batman is an indoor cat. He has escaped through the pool screen a few times before, but he always stayed close to the house and came back. This time, he broke through the same spot again, and I can still see some of his fur stuck to the tape there. What worries me is that this time he didn’t come back. I’m still searching for him and I’m very worried. Thank you so much for your help and advice. ❤️🐾

Batman is a beautiful black cat — I’m sorry he is lost. Is Batman an escaped indoor cat or allowed outside? His familiarity with the environment will dictate how to find him. Escaped indoor cats usually hide close by but are too frightened to return or respond when called; while a cat that knows his way around may have become stuck somewhere and needs help getting home. I have recovered many lost cats and assisted others so if you tell me about Batman I can provide complete instructions that may help. Please understand an escaped cat may emerge when it's dark and quiet to sneak back inside — if you do just the right things. This usually happens within the first few nights so until I hear back from you please implement this strategy if Batman got out accidentally: tonight lay a familiar blanket or worn teeshirt flat on the doorstep — do not use a litter box, bed, trap, or anything conspicuous -- along with tempting food at his point of escape. Call him softly to provide a familiar sound and direction (he won't come on command) then watch from inside (DO NOT GO BACK OUTSIDE OVERNIGHT!) and if you see Batman approach and settle on the food be careful not to startle him. Slowly and quietly provide a clear path inside and he may put an end to the crisis himself. If you can't wait up set an alarm and watch again just before sunrise -- it's a popular time. And although some will suggest putting out kitty's litter box, experts say DON’T DO IT. I've never used one in all the times I've been successful recovering a lost cat. Thank you so much for taking the time to give me these recommendations. I truly appreciate your kindness and your help. I am still searching for my cat and doing everything I can to find him. I am very sad and heartbroken without him, and I just hope he comes back home safely. Thank you again for taking the time to help me. ❤️🐾

Solid black cat with yellow eyes Put this cat on all the lost and found pet pages and neighborhood pages in your area. If you have lost a cat read my first long paragraph. If you found one, Please read the last paragraph The only way a lost cat can find its way home is with its nose. Immediately anything with the cat's scent on it and anything that stinks of you like your smelly socks something that you sweated in overnight and your stinky sneakers even your dirty clothes and your underwear! Cats usually stay within a five house radius of their own home for up to a week sleeping in the bushes and coming out at dusk Dawn and late at night. These are good times to take walks shaking the treat bag and calling for them. Cats can smell up to a whole mile away. So do that immediately and also put this on nextdoor. com and the other lost and found pet sites. Go on those sites looking at pics of found cats too. There might be a match.They tend to come home late at night or early in the morning so if you can keep a window cracked or a door cracked so at least you hear them. Good luck IF YOU HAVE FOUND A CAT: Please post this on all the lost and found pet pages in your county as well as all the neighborhood pages. Look on those pages just look at the photos try to make a match to someone that lost this cat. Any vet will check for a chip for free. In the meantime please give food and water to the kitty and shelter if you can.
