Description

Lutino Cockatiel - All Yellow with orange cheek patches

Message from Owner

This is my bird named Benny gifted to me by my mother last summer 2025. He is an 8 month old Lutino cockatiel, all yellow with orange cheek patches. He has a slight reddish brown ring like stain on the back of his neck. He is half hand fed meaning he is not friendly to strangers and only allows myself and my husband to handle him and only calls back to us. Last seen Sunday 3/29/2026 around 11:00 am flying into a neighboring yard located at 2780 Caspian Ave, 90810. Owners of the are unfortunately not cooperative and “claim” to no have such bird on their property. To date however, we can still hear him call back to us when we pass by. His calls are very distinctive and not at all similar to other birds they own and have shown us. We are confident our bird is at this location but unfortunately when police came they covered him up and moved him so we could not hear him call back to us. 💔😔 Benny is more than just a pet to us he is our family. Not an “expensive bird” as the owners of 2780 Caspian described him to me. The fact that there are people like this in the world is disturbing. 😔 We are offering a $500 reward for Benny’s return or information that will help bring him back to us. Any information anyone has is greatly appreciated 🙏🏽 We love you and miss you so much Benny 💔🥺

Bianca Lara Take binoculars and look in trees, brush, and roof tops. Play cockatiel sounds and call to your bird. Listen for a reply. Shake a bag of treats your birds knows the sounds to also. Encouraging to come to you and or respond to you. Go out throughout the days. Especially start at first light first thing in the morning. As the sun is coming up and they are waking up, and each morning if not found right away. Go out at dusk. As the sun is going down and they are settling in for the night. And go out in-between during the day. Put out fliers, post on next door and local lost and founds. There is strength in social media. Get the word out as well as you keep looking. Have friends, family, and neighbors help you look too. Call stores near by and the police station to notify them. Vet clinics too. Don't give up. Keep looking. They are hungry and by the third day go looking for help and land and look for people for assistance. If not found sooner. Most important to keep looking. Your bird isn't far, but very scared and confused. Keep looking. They can travel far. Don't give up searching <3

Posted on Lost and Found birds of the US https://m.facebook.com/groups/637611853061306/permalink/3513023802186749/?mibextid=Nif5oz To Benito's (Benny) owner: We are so sorry to hear your bird is missing. Here are some ideas to assist in your search. *Create a post on Pawboost, NextDoor & Ring, if you haven’t already. *During the daytime: use a wireless Bluetooth speaker to broadcast flock calls or your voice, shake treat bags or anything that might attract attention to food, put the cage out where it can be seen. *During the evening when searching is over, design & print off flyers with photo & contact information. These can be encased in a ziplock to keep weatherproof & posted in areas where allowed like parks, poles & any nearby gathering areas. Also drop off some at vet clinics, pet supply stores, anything within a 5 mile radius. Contact local shelters/rescues & even the police dept - they do pick up found/stray pets all the time. Make sure the world knows - neighbors esp ones that have bird feeders/baths/pools. Hand them out while searching the area. Join every local social media group there is. Run an ad in your local newspaper - some run one for free in lost & found (or cheap). Also check with local bird watcher groups - they’re always out & about. Flyers cannot be placed in mailboxes. *PLEASE CHECK WITH LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS & FILE A MISSING PET REPORT*
