Dogs lost in unfamiliar area typically hide close by and return to the location they bolted from as long as they are not pursued or chased when the area is calm. Please put out some smelly food, water and something that smells like his favorite person at the exit point. Calling out to a lost dog is not recommended as they will hear it as a threat or that they are in trouble. Foot searching is also not recommended. They will hear you, smell you and see you before you know where they're at resulting in them to continue to hide or move from the area. Flyers are highly recommended as they will catch the eyes of those not on social media and ones traveling through the area.
