If this is a racing pigeon he will know how to get home. Racing pigeons also known as 'homers' will get home even from very long distances.

I’ve emailed the finder but this is either a domesticated escaped or released pigeon or a missing racing pigeon either way he needs to be caught and brought inside. I catch and treat pigeons with stringfoot often and have a network of rehabbers and pigeon rescuers who can help identify. If this is a racing pigeon he most likely will be adopted probably by me
