🐾 If you haven't already (these are some suggestions, as you may have already done some of these and some suggestions may not pertain to your situation). If chipped....Immediately alert the chip company and make sure your info is UTD. File a lost report with local shelters. Go there in person on a regular basis. Post on Next Door and PawBoost. Ignore the pay prompts for PawBoost. Download Ring app and ask neighbors to check their footage. Let the postman know, as they know most of the people on their routes. You don’t have to have a Ring doorbell. Put clothes, towels, bedding that smells like you on your porch. Post on as many Lost and Found sites on FB as possible. Do not duplicate posts on the pages as this loses the thread. Dogs usually head north, for some reason, so look in that direction. But obviously check everywhere. Put up clear, simple and brightly colored signs all around the area. Put a sign in your yard with a picture and your phone number. Walk the neighborhood and put flyers on everyone's door. Immediately put out your dog's bed, and some of YOUR dirty clothes (dirty socks are nice and stinky)/blankets (dry in dryer first to enhance smell). Contact all local animal shelters, vets and groomers in your area. Check Craigslist in your area. Some people still put there. Look under found pets or pets for sale. If you live at an Apt complex ask the office mgr to send an email to all tenants, it could be someone that lives there picked him up. Walk don't drive around looking for your baby. The car may muffle your voice 🐾

🐾If you haven't already (these are some suggestions, as you may have already done some of these and some suggestions may not pertain to your situation). Can you take to see if the dog has a chip. Any vet, emergency vet, or even some petco or petsmart (if there is a pet hospital there) and fire department might be able to scan (some have scanners). Have them to do a full body scan, as sometimes the chip may have moved. Please walk the neighborhood and see if he belongs to any of your neighbors. Remember not everyone is on social media. Let the postman also know, as he normally knows his folks on his route and may recognize the pup. Please also contact the shelters near you, that is one of the first places a family will go. WHAT TO DO The first place owners go, desperate to find their missing pets, is to the shelters to see if they have been picked up or turned in. Call the local shelters asap to let them know where the pet is and provide your contact information. The shelters will ask you if you want to hold the pet until the owners are found or if you want them to pick it up. You can safely notify the shelter and still hold on to the pet until owners come looking for it, if you want to. Owners may still be out of town! Not uncommon for neighbors & some pet sitters to loose dogs If you live at an Apt complex ask the office mgr to send an email to all tenants, it could be someone that lives there Please ask for proof of ownership. Beware of scammers claiming to have your pup ‼️ Beware of pet finders ‼️ Do not send money or codes ‼️ Register as LOST on petfbi.org ** Print Free FLYERS from petfbi post and hang in area *Post on local lost dog & community pages , Nextdoor and RING apps *Contact local police and animal shelters to report lost in case someone brings pup there ***Leave pup blanket (SCENT) and a few of your unlaundered clothing outside so pup can SMELL HOME * Leave stinky wet food & water outside ** Check w neighbors w cameras to see if they recorded which way pup ran If your pup is chipped, make sure your contact info is correct and report as lost/stolen.
