I found this turtle on the sidewalk on my walk home from work and want to get it back to its rightful owner as soon as possible

I hope this was a bad joke but even so this page was set up to help save animals and reunite families with their pets. Please unless a native turtle is in harms way do not mess with it. If you have to move it to keep it safe than move it in the direction it was heading to the closest safest space. Turtles are slow movers and it takes them a long time to find resources such as food and water so you never want to move them to far from where you find them cause that is the territory they know and they know where their resources are and if you move them too far it could be a death sentence for them even if you had no bad intentions so please leave box turtles where you found them or the closest possible place that is safe for them. Thank you. I am one of the administrators for this page and I took of restrictions so people could post and see posts of lost pets in a timely manner but some people think it’s funny to post jokes on these pages. If you want to post a joke post it on your facebook page but leave this page for people who truly need help finding their pets or truly lost pets to be posted to find their owner

I'm pretty confident that's a box turtle. It's indigenous to the area. Not anyone's pet. I would put it back where you found it
