Thanks for your insight and advice. Travis. I now understand area I've moved into and cannot have a cat that is an indoor outdoor animal. The next cat I do get will have to be indoors only. So sad these poor domestic animals are food of prey for these wild animals!

I have multiple cats and live down on saticoy and topanga.. Im sorry for your loss. In this area you can't have outdoor pets. down the street on Tuesday a coyote picked a neighbors shi-zhu out of their backyard... If you get a new cat don't let it out is my advice...you're closer to the foothills than I am, there's coyotes on your street every night grocery shopping. I wish the city would do something to control their numbers, they're nuisance animals. If my cat was ever out after dark I wouldn't sleep at night till I found it. I'd be out front with my Daisy ready to defend the ponderosa.
