Super sweet cat, was happy to get in my car and drive for two hours while I tried to figure out what to do with it! Looks like it’s been out on its own for a while, but it’s way too friendly not to have a family somewhere! I tried the new 24/7 microchip scanner in front of PETA, with no success. Either no chip or user error!

Trisha Lilly thank you! I am still holding out hope that the owner will be found 🤞🏻 I am making sacrifices to be able to afford the medical care this cat needs. At least to be able to get this cat into a healthy state where it might have hope of being adopted. I am uncertain if I would be able to keep it if all else fails, as financially I really am struggling. Also, biggest factor… unsure if my catahoula/rottweiler rescue will accept him 😅🙃 this tom cat is just so stinkin sweet, I’ve gotta try everything! I have been looking for resources for additional veterinary care, if you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it!

Ginny Bee I never said I drove in a straight line for two hours… it was 3 am and no vets or shelters were open. This cat is still located only 20 minutes from where it was found. I am still hoping to find its owner, in the meantime I am providing it a safe space and medical care. My understanding is that you should leave strays where they are, IF they appear to be thriving. But this cat needed help, and is now receiving that help. I was able to speak to a person that lives where I found it, they told me they only first saw this cat the day before, so it was new to that area. This cat has also been reported to the city in which it was found. Ginny, I understand where you are coming from. I do believe I made the right decision in this situation. Please let me know if there is anything I could do in the future that would provide a better outcome.

So now it has been taken out of the area where it was found. Too many people do this instead of taking them to a shelter or vet. (Most likely one or both was closer than taking this cat 2 hours away!) NEVER DO THIS!
