That's great. When I lured a stray inside, I eventually fed him right at the door and then just inside the door. Of course, you would have to put the other cats away. We have a townhouse. When I had 3 strays at once, they didn't get along at first. So we hung inexpensive wooden screen doors at the top of each set of stairs. So much better than those awkward puppy gates. You can even put up something at the bottom of the gate so they can't see each other at first. Let me know if you need any more help. Alley Cat Allies was a great help when I was in the midst of stray cat mayhem!

Thank you for the suggestion. He is almost to the front porch now. I also have two cat houses for him, one near the porch and one on it. Last night my three housecats and he were staring at each other through the glass door.

If you are not already doing it, try moving the food closer and closer. And make sure he sees you while he's eating, so he will associate you with food.
