Please check all shelters animal control humane society in person even if you sent him a picture my dog went missing years ago and I was told no dog was there that fit my description later I went there just to see for myself and I found my dog in a stray hold room and was so stressed. He didn’t look like his picture. Prayers for your dogs safe return

Make flyers with picture saying LOST DOG. Put up 1-4 miles from where last seen. Not everyone has social media

The "Path of Least Resistance": Small dogs will avoid difficult terrain. When seeking water or food, they often travel along residential roads, sidewalks, or railroad tracks. Instead of wandering openly near large bodies of water, they are far more likely to hunker down in tight, hidden spaces during the day. Check under porches, inside sheds, beneath thick brush, or under parked cars. Don't Chase or Call Out: When in survival mode, a dog may not recognize its owner's voice or face and will run away from you. Set up a Station: Leave a bowl of water, a crate, and a piece of your worn clothing (like a t-shirt or pillowcase) near the area they were last seen. Your scent will comfort them and encourage them to stay put. Search at Dawn and Dusk: Lost dogs tend to hide silently during the day and move to find food and water when it is quiet and dark.

Post on Nextdoor too. Check with area shelters daily and go there in person also.
