I originally posted this dog on 8/11/26 when I first spotted her. I was hoping to reunite her with her owner but I'm now thinking that she's been abandoned. In speaking to several neighbors that live on Tamarron Dr. & Pinehurst Shadows Dr. off of the Atascocita Golf Course, she has been wandering the neighborhood for about 6 weeks now being fed & watered by many. There is one couple in their 80's who has gone above & beyond in trying to care for her and keep her safe. They have named her Jade which she responds too. They have 3 indoor cats that aren't dog friendly so they made a sleep/rest area on their back covered patio w/newly bought fans and cool bedding. Despite the cat situation, they still tried to bring her in the hse but to no avail. They feed her every day, buy treats & have had many sleepless nights worrying that she will eventually get hit by a car. She does show up like clock work every morning and sits on their back patio chair. Their rod iron fence is in need of repair and even where the openings were patched with chicken wire, Jade has made her way out. She is a great escape artist! She runs the golf course and the neighborhood. Many attempts to put a collar/leash on her in order to bring her to a vet have been unsuccessful. She lets you get just so close before she runs off. She looks very young. Her teeth are white and beautiful and for the split second that I had yesterday to rub the back of her ear, her fur is soft. She's leery & skittish but friendly. She likes to be around people and will stay nearby, just close enough to be there but leaving enough space to run. She's high energy. I would take Jade in a heartbeat but also have a dog who isn't friendly to other dogs. I would say Jade is about 20 lbs . I've taken a few photos of her and depending upon the photo, AI says: German Pinscher or Dobermann. This sweet girl needs a forever home that would be patient in taming her wild spirit until she adapts to a new lifestyle that will keep her safe and well cared for.

Miranda Hagee I told Lauren the next step is to get her to my vet. Because we were concerned about shots and could not tell if she was fixed or not . Then we hadn’t seen her in three days and got very worried. Well, anyway, I have been feeding her fresh pet. She loves the chicken and she likes ice cubes in her water. Just an FYI.❤️

Tausha Cox They adopted her from the shelter and while she was an inside dog, she was let out in the fenced backyard to potty. She dug out once and squeezed through the bars of the gate once. (Unsure which order) They found her the first time and not the second. She traveled a substantial distance so didn't know where to look. She's a sweet little dog but definitely can't just live freely in a neighborhood. ❤️

Miranda Hagee I live next to Lauren… we just love Jade! She is the sweetest. Jade built a huge bond with Lauren Jade trusted Lauren enough to pet her, pick her up and come inside her house. This makes me so sad that the “adopters” only had her for three days and she’s been missing for three months?! I also fed her every morning she would just sit and wait at my front gate. Jade would wait by Lauren’s front door and back gate, Lauren always left her gate open for her and fed her and loved on her. I truly hope the original adoptee can build the trust that Lauren already has with Jade!

Lauren Victoria Boone for sure! She's only 8 months old and I discussed at great lengths how to build trust, secure the yard, etc., with the adoptive family. They're very sweet, I just hope they're also very receptive! If you're ever interested in adopting a pup, feel free to reach out! We have four foster puppies currently available for adoption. ❤️ Two of them look a lot like Jade but will be bigger.

Miranda Hagee oh, I’m so sad that she’s gone. And yes I spoke with Janet multiple times. Although I’m heartbroken I won’t see Jade again- I’m happy she’s reunited with her family. She is definitely a huge escape artist, it was my pleasure helping care for her. She made my days so much brighter seeing her. I’m going to miss her so much. Thank you for your help bringing her home

Hi, Lauren. Yes, she was returned to owner three days ago- Saturday morning, 8/22. I'm not sure if you may be Mrs. Janet's neighbor that she spoke about(?) but I left my chip scanner with her on Friday morning and she was able to scan her. Fortunately, she was microchipped and reported missing so I made contact with the owners Friday evening (I'm in rescue). The adopters had her 3 days before she escaped late April and was missing for about 3 months- she was very, very distant from them during those 3 days also and had no time to bond to them. She traveled 3.5 miles across multiple major roads (1960, Atascocita, WLH, etc.) We all met there Saturday morning and the pup (whose name was Scout, now Jade) was cornered under patio furniture in Janet's backyard. My husband blocked one side and I was able to lay on my belly and get a slip leash on her to get her out. Sweet pup!

Miranda Hagee hi there! I live on the course and I have been caring for her as well for several weeks now. I haven’t seen her in 3 days. So she has been placed back to her owner?
