Message from Owner

I lost my dog during the night as he was to do his duties and a firework went off and he darted away. Drove around the area in a 2 mile radius and did not find any clues of his presence.

If you haven’t already, please see the information below to help with a search for your dog: *It’s very important in the search for your dog to put up neon lost dog signs in the area that they went missing as soon as possible. Someone may see your dog and not know how to contact you. Plus not everyone is on a social media pet site. *Please complete the online lost pet form on the Cobb County Animal Shelter website in case someone finds them -see link below. Since Cobb County Animal Shelter only holds dogs without any ID if your dog was not microchip for 3 days before putting them up for adoption suggest you go to the animal shelter to see if your dog has been brought in since July 3. If your dog hasn’t been brought into the animal shelter yet then please be sure to check the animal shelter IN PERSON frequently. *Suggest putting out worn/dirty clothes with your scent outside to leave a scent to follow home. *Suggest asking neighbors to check their Ring cameras for any sightings *If your dog is microchipped, please notify the microchip company that your dog is missing and also check to be sure your contact info is current. If it’s with Save the Life please be advised this company went out of business 1/2025 and your dog’s microchip is now unregistered. *Recommend posting on NextDoor **PLEASE be aware of scammers !! Hope your dog is found soon. 🤞🏻🐾 https://cobbcounty.seamlessdocs.com/f/lost_animal

I'm so sorry that your baby is one of the thousands that got lost due to fireworks. Every year in advance I try to post something about it so people will remember the fireworks are not just on July 4th anymore -- it seems to be anytime someone feels like it! So, use a harness and a collar and a double leash to take your pet out cause you just never know and it is heartbreaking! I recommend that since it's been so many days you find a reputable tracker. Have you been door-to-door with photos in your neighborhood and every other neighborhood including businesses and asked them to check doorbells and cameras for sightings? Those sightings could offer you a location, date, and time that you could map and share with the tracker. Also, send flyers to all vets and pet stores; since it's been so many days, I'd start with a good 40 to 50 mile radius and add five more miles to the radius every day of absence. Also, use that radius for visiting shelters and visit them every single day. Get friends and family or anyone that really knows your dog and that your dog knows them, to help you. Hang out some unwashed laundry or your dog's blanket and let it blow in the breeze. A dog will pick up that scent from a good distance that we would never notice. I'm sure your baby is hungry and thirsty especially as hot as it's been. The only way that your dog has to find sustenance is through smell so go any place you think your dog might be drawn to get food and water. I would post on my personal Facebook page 15 to 20 times a day with different photos, a little different wording, and good contact information. Getting your post to go viral just means that many more people are looking/watching. I think the tracker is your best bet at this point in time. You need to call all rescue groups especially breed specific to your dog and ask for help searching. You need to be searching day and night. I know your baby a tired and who knows how many miles he's traveled because after the 3rd with the one firework there was the 4th providing a whole bunch more noise --- your baby might have gotten spooked repeatedly running Helter skelter and can't even find his way back ...... I'm so sorry I'm sharing and praying 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
