Mark Gehl Latoya's Legacy Sanctuary has cats the are adoptable and often has cats that are good with dogs. Dane County Humane Society and other rescues are other options as well of course. Sorry about your kitty :(

Do you have it indoors? check with neighbors, post on nextdoor or any neighborhood facebook pages or email lists. If there is no owner, coax with food into your garage or indoors or into a carrier. If you have a carrier, any clinic can scan for a chip. If not, call dispatch 608-255-2345 and they can pick up from a garage or a carrier and take to the humane society. Dispatch works only from 8-5 or so weekdays. If you can house the cat in your garage or bathroom overnight, then call in the morning. If you cannot and have or can borrow a carrier, then you can turn it in to the UW Vet Hospital, 515 Easterday Drive on campus. They are a holding facility and will transfer the cat to the Dane Co Humane Society.

Mark Gehl it is likely that it is someone’s cat. You are better off adopting from a rescue. Sorry about ur kitty
