I found this dog at Florin Creek Park. I spotted him a couple days ago but couldn’t catch him. He was hungry this morning and I was able to catch him. He’s very sweet but can barely see due to matting.

Sherrie Cunningham I understand all of that….he could have been lost and found by someone not the owner and not properly looked after. Or somehow survived being lost (it happens), or, yes, neglected by owner. We dont know for sure. Either way, he is being tended to now ❤️

Maude Williams A Dog would have to be lost for months to get matted like this. So then it would not have food and not survive typically. Mats and hair like this don't happen quickly.. and mats like this for a dog are painful. Needs a vet.

That is so sad...these kinds of mats are painful to a dog. This dog needs a vet who can trim the mats safely .. and some intervention . A dog would have to be out for months to get this bad.. This is neglect. This dog needs help.. The SPCA or maybe a Yorkie rescue who can check for a chip but make sure the dog will be taken care of properly. Breaks my heart.. and thank you for helping .. Most would just ignore a dog in this condition these days and not want to get involved.

Require proof of ownership. File online found reports with shelters. Take by vet to scan for chip. Post on Nextdoor and post flyers.
