A few things to try: put his litterbox outside, they can smell it from up to a mile away and it could help guide him home. Check with your neighbors - they may have taken him in, or he got stuck in their garages, sheds or window wells. Cats will generally stay close, but will hide during the day if they're scared, and only come out when it's dark and quiet - night-time and early morning are the best times to look - that's when mine came home. I have also heard that using a flashlight at night will help find her by the reflection of his eyes. I hope you find him soon.

Put the litter box outside, food bowls, some toys. Cats have a wonderful sense of smell. Also an article of clothing with your smell on that will help. If you dare keep your garage door open just a little.
