Could you post a better picture please? I mean can’t even see the face. Even an owner may not recognize their dog upside down & really only a belly shot. 🙄🤷‍♀️

No chip. No harness. No tags. Under 25 pounds. Taken to the vet to tend to him, and do an overall health check for the sake of the animal. Was running with three other dogs one blonde small dog, and two tri colored small dogs. Found at 4:15pm in the middle of Davistown Road with oncoming traffic between Countrywood Lane and Davis Farm Road. Other dogs took off in the woods. They were all in the middle of the road. I went door to door asking if anyone knew him, or the other dogs. I drove all side roads trying to catch a glimpse of the other three. No luck seeing where they went once they got to the woods. I also got three neighbors to help me search. Have posted signs, called local vets, animal control etc… If you know this dog, please do not hesitate to reach out. Followed suggestions outlined on Wake County Animal Control website. https://www.wake.gov/departments-government/animal-services/lost-found-pets Note: If the pet cannot be safely handled due to medical or behavioral concerns, contact your local Animal Control Agency for assistance. DO NOT GET BITTEN. A bite on its record can be life-threatening for the animal. 1. Check the pet for identification tags. An NC rabies tag can be traced to the clinic that issued it. 2. Put a sign in front of your house letting people know that you found a pet. Even just a quick note written in marker on a delivery box could be the beacon of hope that an owner is looking for. Many people will walk or drive around their neighborhood looking for their lost pet. 3. Check with your neighbors in case someone has a new pet, or they’ve seen the pet around the neighborhood and know where they live, or already know of someone looking for a lost pet. 4. Have the pet scanned for a microchip. Any veterinary clinic can do this, as well as the Wake County Animal Center. Depending on privacy practices, a clinic may not provide you with the owner’s information or even the microchip number, but they canget your permission to pass along your name and contact information to the pet owner, if they are able to reach them. 5. Contact your local Animal Control Agency to report the found pet and to see if an owner has reached out to them (or if they recognize the pet as a “frequent flyer” and can them home). * If you live near another county or jurisdiction, notify their Animal Control, as well. 6. Post found flyers in your neighborhood. Flyers and found reports can be made on the following websites: * Petco Love Lost * Pawboost 7. Post on social media. * Nextdoor is a great way to let others in your neighborhood know that you have found a pet and to see if anyone recognizes them. * Facebook has many lost and found groups that range from local to statewide and regional. The Wake County Animal Center has our own Facebook group dedicated to helping pets lost and found within Wake County: Wake County Lost & Found Pets | Facebook. 8. If you found a pet within Wake County and were unable to locate the owner, please call the Wake County Animal Center at 919-212-7387 to schedule an appointment. (A) (1) It shall be unlawful for any owner to permit an animal to be at large. This section shall not apply to a community cat caregiver. Hunting dogs may be at large in the course of hunting if under the control of the owner. (2) However, this provision does not exempt an owner from otherwise complying with § 91.08 or any other provision of this chapter. (C) It shall be unlawful for any person owning or having possession, charge, custody or control of any dog to take the dog into or allow the dog to enter any public park without being at all times under the restraint of a leash unless the park is designated as a dog park. (D) It shall be unlawful for any person owning or having possession, charge, custody or control of a female dog or female cat to allow that animal to be at large during its estrus period. During this period, the owner or person having possession of the animal must restrain the animal in an enclosure in the manner that will prevent the animal from coming in contact with a male of its species. This section shall not be construed to prohibit the intentional breeding of animals on the premises of the owners or keepers of the animals involved. (E) Any owner reclaiming a cat or dog that has been running at large shall be required to have his or her animal microchipped by a licensed veterinarian within ten business days.
