Message from Owner

Buddy is missing and we are heartbroken 💔. Buddy was a feral cat around 1 year old when he adopted us in August of 2022. He has been an indoor and outdoor cat, and has recently been able to get rid of 2 different collars, so he doesn't currently have one on. Buddy Kiki James, as I like to call him, is one of a kind. Friendly and calm, he is a mama's boy. We can't sleep or eat because we are so worried about our baby. Please help us bring him . We really need our sweet boy back.

Maybe he was checking out under a neighbor's house, through an open crawlspace door. Then while exploring, someone put the door back on and left. So maybe................🤞🥰

To parents of lost pets: Beware of scammers who will comment with links for "lost" pets services. (Including Drone services) And they will CALL or MESSAGE you also. Do not fall for their scams. Also, they call using what seems like legit shelter number saying pet needs surgery/help. Hang up and call shelter directly.

1. Also post on Next Door. Talk to neighbors who may not be on social media. 2. If microchipped notify the company and be sure information is current. If not chipped contact area vets and rescues. 3. Post flyers on neon colored poster paper and put in plastic zip lock bags. 4. Look under houses, porches, decks, grills and bushes . Under cars… 5. Look up in trees. Look in garages, sheds, drainpipes, driveway culverts and sewers. 6. Go out at night but midnight-5 am is best when cats are most active. Take a strong flash light to reflect on cats eyes. Call calmly and take treats. 7. Set up outdoor camera to see if coming up about $35 Walmart. 8. If seen coming up set a have -a-heart cat trap. - borrow from a rescue or buy at a tractor supply. Bait with canned mackerel or sardines. Put a tarp or dark towel over the top part not the ends so cat can breathe. - sync a trail camera to monitor activity from your cell phone. - take cat out inside to prevent escape. - don’t leave trap out overnight unattended. 9. Indoor-outdoor cats are usually hiding or stuck within 3-17 houses or 345 yards unless they hitched a ride. 10. Put out worn clothing of cat’s favorite person. Do not put out litter can attract predators and strays. 11. Put out water so cat can survive. 12. Go to all area shelters in person every day or two. Shelters are full… hold times short … 13. It’s an emergency when an indoor-outdoor cat goes missing. Don’t stop looking. We have posted this throughout the BSRI Southport Senior Center, as we are located close to Southport Way. We are urging people to look around and underneath their vehicles. Melissa and Steve love this baby dearly and we will do everything within our power to bring Buddy home! Thank you for caring Jackie
