Try putting something with your scent and his scent outside near the door he that got out of. Laundry or blankets works. It will help him find his way home. Cats can smell these scents from a mile or miles away. Also, maybe leave the door cracked with food a few feet inside. Check under and in everything such as garages and sheds. He is most likely very close by and frightened in hiding. Sit outside quietly in the early evening and early morning and call softly to him. Also, setting a live trap helps but must be supervised while it is set. You don't want him to get hurt trying to get out.

Go out in evening with flashlight and look under anything and everything. A lady just found her cat this way at her neighbors house curled up in a tire under a pile of stuff in their yard. Check all bushes and shrubs nearby thoroughly! A lady just got her cat back today. She left her garage cracked and her daughter had a feeling to look at 3am . Their cat was in the garage!

They like to return in the wee hours between Midnight and Sunrise when everything is quiet and still. Leave a garage door or any door cracked and wait quietly. It's a good idea to sit up and wait. He will want to come back home but needs to be able to get in when he shows up. He is in fight or flight mode. Do not call out his name when searching this will frighten him more

Waiting up between Midnight and Sunrise for your kitty is a super great idea and it works. Leave the door cracked and wait. I suggested this to a lady two days ago and she did it. Her cat came back the same night around 2am

Put signs up. Check with all your neighbors and if they have ring cameras.

You might try a live trap, they are fairly cheap, my Jane wanted to come back but was too overwhelmed and scared, she had made a home under a backyard shed across the street. Eventually she was found eating hamburger in the trap on my front porch and all was right again. It took about 3 weeks for her to show up and i did have to release squirrels and possums along the way which were easy. Tuna in oil also makes a lot of scent. Make sure there's water too. If its cold out, wrap the trap in a blanket and make sure to check it often, check it often no matter what the weather is. In fact, best to keep a camera on it. I believe in Jane's case, the live trap was her only chance. Best of luck and a swift resolve for you I hope
