Ask the sheriff dept, animal control and or humane society wildlife officers, if they know of other pet tracker in your area..while you're talking to them make sure you file a lost report and go check the shelter.. ask them if they know of someone with a drone to fly over area that was lost.. also consider putting out a couple trail cams in area lost. Tracker: if you haven't consider hiring a tracker or at least call one and get some tips.. There are several NC pet trackers. Animal control to report lost 910 798 7500 You may have already done all these things.. Post on pawboost.com... notify your animal control, do a lost report. Go to the shelter.. And humane society. post on petharbor.com .. in my county, new hanover county, they use petharbor.com to post found animals... This is a BIG REMINDER TO CHECK ALLLLLLLL SHELTERS WITHIN A LARGE RADIUS if has been lost a couple days ...i'd report at least two counties out all around where lost.. 150 miles or so of where your dog got lost make that part of your search. (People pick them up and think nothing of taking them miles away and giving them to a shelter in another county) (Recently a dog was found 20 days after being lost TWO HOURS AWAY!!, another 10 miles and another 3 miles) ... if chipped notify chip company and make sure your info is up to date online... post on nextdoor.com and put fliers all around your neighborhood. And post on findfido.com Lostmydoggie.com and petfinder.com Most local newspapers will run ad for free. If chipped, make sure your chip info is up to date. Lost from accident go to where he ran off... take water, one of his toys, something that you have worn, some food and maybe something from your home that he lays on...take some kind of treat like potato chips that the bag rattle and sit and say "yummy, yummy, yummy" and rattle the bag. make sure you are sitting or low to the ground.. dont say come here or any of the commands... just talk to him softly like you do at home... he is scared and hurt and it may take him some time.... this happened in another area a week or so ago and the owner left his dirty socks and work shoes and the next morning went back very early and his dog was laying on his socks... praying for a safe return... also you can try a humane trap... tractor supply sells them and sometimes that animal shelter will let you use one...
