UPDATE: Schertz animal services made an acception and ended up taking her. They also were able to find a chip even though the animal hospital could not find one!!

As a citizen and donor to Schertz Animal Shelter, I don't agree with this 100% but I also understand the shelter's view. Many will bring pets from all over and legally they are supposed to only take in from the area they serve. I live in Schertz but advice folks to take a picture of the street sign where found and if at all possible, wait for an ACO to arrive at your car. I hope they make an exception and if needed I think this is the same dog my daughter saw this morning. She lives close to that school and works at 1st Baptist Church in Schertz.

Jen Fairley It was definitely frustrating. I emailed them asking if they could make an acceptance and I think they are willing to take her in now as they were out looking for her this morning. Im not 100% how these rules work as im new to the area but I will update if they do end up taking her in.

What a ridiculous statement from animal control. Bring her back and ask a Schertz resident to call in. How the heck are we supposed to rescue dogs anymore?
