Tonight after 10 PM go out on your yard with a bag of kitty treats and a flashlight, walk around your yard, calling your cats name and shaking the kitty treats bag, use the flashlight to look in the bushes to see if you see your cat hiding. Print flyers with your cat picture and your contact information and take around to your neighbors asking them to call you if they see your cat, also ask them if they’ve been in their shed outbuilding or garage since the cat has been missing. Cats go in those places to hide and feel safe. If the door gets closed, they cannot get out and you cannot hear him crying to get out unless you’re standing right next to the structure. Visit the shelter several times a week to see if your cat has been brought in. Indoor cats rarely stray more than 5 to 7 homes from their own The cat could be missing for months and still return. At times people will take in what they think is a stray when it’s not.

Please file a missing cat report with Virginia Beach animal control. If the cat is chipped, make sure the registry has your current contact information. Please check animal control shelter several times a week
