Hi I’m Esme! I am young and adventurous and despite my dad’s best attempts to stop me, I beat him past the door! Freedom to roam! Except now I’m a little scared and maybe got a little turned around! Please help me get to my dad! I also have a doggo brother and sister that miss me very much!

Go searching immediately around the outside of the house could be hiding under bushes or behind air conditioners or in some ones garage let neighbors know to keep an eye out for him put up pictures around the neighborhood cats roam after dark go searching this evening this evening calling his name and shaking a bag of cat food they also roam early in the morning too put out a personal piece of clothing or blanket with your scent on it so he can smell it or even a can of tuna to entice him back bring in at night put out his used litter box outside they can smell it for a long distance bring in at night go searching once it starts getting dark use a flashlight cats eyes glare check with neighbors yards and garages 💙💙💙

If normally an indoor cat, then kitty is likely hiding real close to home. They tend to freeze in place and may not come out if you call their name. Use a flashlight to look in, under, behind all dark spaces so that their eyes glow. You can do this during the day, but especially at night when things are quieter. Check inside the house as well just in case. Look up in trees in case kitty climbed up to escape another animal. Put some of your dirty laundry and the cat’s bedding outside for the scent. Leave a door cracked open so they can get back inside. Set up trail cameras outside and use a humane trap that you can buy at a hardware store or borrow from a rescue. Ask neighbors to check garages and sheds. Hang LOST signs in your area. Post on Nextdoor app, Ring app, area facebook pages, and lost and found facebook pages. Make sure microchip information is accurate. Check local animal shelters in person.
