Put his litter box on your porch, along with an article of clothing with your scent on it. Cats have a wonderful sense of smell and will come to those items. Leave a window cracked nearby so that you can hear him. Post pictures around the neighborhood and on doors. Ask neighbors to keep an eye out and to check garages and sheds. Cats hide, usually fairly close by. They tend to come out after dark, so look for him then. Call and rattle a treat can if he likes those. If you put food out, stay close by, because it will also attract other animals that might scare him away. Don't leave it out very long. Also, go in person to shelters and vets' offices, and leave a picture and phone number there. I hope you find him!

The door she ran out of will be the door she tries to get back in from. The dirty clothing/litterbox should be at that door. Protect litter box from rain. It you can leave that door cracked open 24/7so when she feels safe to move she can get inside. Atleast as long as you can. I'd camp out in that room and keep cracked open between midnight and dawn. Nighttime is when they normally move. Inside only will be no further than 7 house's away but normally very close. If you have a garage door leave it cracked open enough to get in. Put water dirty clothing and kitty's bedding or blanket out there. 24/7acesss . Warm tuna fish and put out around dawn and again early evening. But don't leave food out past dark. It will attract critters. Let all your neighbors know. Check decks, under sheds, bushes, crawlspace ask your neighbors to as well..
