Tara McCarthy oh my God that must have been so horrible to witness. I saw something like that 40 years ago and it's never left my brain. One minute they're running and the next they're actually laying there dead it's just so wrong .... animals deserve better at least you tried to catch the dog I always keep treats in the car because that probably would have worked

o! I believe I saw this dog running across US highway 1 by Compassion Church. I stopped and tried to call the dog but she unfortunately ran back into traffic and was struck by a large van. A few other good samaritans stopped with me to try and help out, and I believe a lady said she would take her to Matanzas River Animal Hospital. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem she survived the impact, but I would certainly check with the vet for further information. I believe the collar was also taken to the vet as well. I truly hope there’s some good news to come out of this… sending lots of prayers 🙏

Please go in person to animal control. Every single day is called St. John’s County pet Center. They have a high rate and only have to hold an animal for three days if it is a pet feral cats they don’t hold it all just FYI for anyone reading this also please have large laminated flyer secured to stop signs all around your area using zip ties in a hole puncture. Be sure to go door-to-door as neighbors to check their cameras check with all veterinarians in the area, including the one on US one St. John’s County regional veterinary emergency clinic after hours. Post on next-door app for your area.
