Found! After 5 days he returned. What ended up being the trick to get him home was, canned sardines. My mother had the idea to set out some really potent smelling food to get his nose going. First tried tuna but it remained untouched. Then I tried the sardines last night and woke up to him chowing down some fish this morning. Thank you all for your input and help.
