I'm Casey's Mommy. Casey is a slim, neutered male, with a pointier face than most, and beautiful, glossy all-black fur. His 'meow' is high pitched. He is energetic, though I don't know if he still is since he's been out and about for 3 weeks as of today, May 23, 2026. He may have a swelling on his chest which is from a sac that fills with fluid and then empties. It is a strange anomaly, but not life threatening. It's possible that someone has found him and is reluctant to tell me because he/she thinks I'm neglecting Casey's medical needs. I want to assure everyone that I take better care of him than I do myself. I took him to the vet, but since the sac had emptied the night before, the vet told me to bring him back when it filled up again. I was scheduled to do so 3 days after he went missing. I have never past by Casey or any of his siblings without giving them love. He has me well-trained. I've learned that when he does a certain action, he wants something specific. I've tried every suggestion that has been given to me to bring him home. I've spent countless hours day and night walking around my neighborhood and every location where a roaming black cat has been spotted. My throat is raw from calling his name for hours these last 3 weeks. I'm not sure if he would allow a stranger to get close to him unless he is injured, sick, or his spirit is broken like mine. Casey is part of a litter of 5, all of whom I adopted as kittens. I still have all 4 of his siblings, and they are healthy and happy. They're 'seniors'. He is the only one with 'wanderlust'. He is the only one who can and wants to climb chain link fencing. I gave him the nickname 'Mr Houdini Jr' the first time I saw him go over the fence. I had to follow him for a while before he let me catch him. I didn't know I could move that fast. Because of that, they were made indoor-only kitties. I guess his 'wanderlust' never mellowed. Casey, I love and miss you. So do your siblings. Where are you? I'm running out of tissues to use to wipe away my tears. My heart aches constantly. I feel helpless. I don't know what else to do. I can't forgive myself. If I could find you, I would gather you up into my arms and scrub and kiss you. But since I can't find you, you'll need to come home on your own or ask a human to help you. Please, Casey. You have been away from home long enough. Your absence is more than I can bear. My sorrow will continue until you are home. Your favorite wet food and treats await you!
