Make sure to check under decks, sheds, porches, bushes, wood piles, etc. Use a flashlight to search during dusk and later when it is quieter. Her/his eyes will glow. If you can, sit out near where s/he escaped and have conversation in a normal tone, s/he may approach. It is important for her/him to hear your calm voice rather than the stress in your voice when you try to call loudly to her/him. Post signs in the immediate area- house cats do not normally go very far, 5-6 houses maybe. Put an item of your dirty laundry outside near where s/he escaped. Notify the shelters, post on local lost/found pages and Nextdoor. Know that cats often show up, even after a few weeks, as if nothing happened. So, keep looking and don’t give up! Good luck!
