Message from Owner

Hubert has been missing since the afternoon of 11/27/25, when he chased a bear out of our yard. His hound nose has gotten the best of him before and he’s taken a few days to make his way , but he’s never been away from our family for this long. He is very sweet but usually shy with strangers and not the type to approach people he is not familiar with. Missing from Garrett Rd in Gold Run - historically if he leaves he’s headed into the canyons towards Secret Town or Moody Ridge and away from traffic areas, however the Gold Run rest area can be accessed through wilderness near our and he could have potentially made his way there. If anyone has seen or heard anything please reach out, we’re hiking the canyons everyday looking for him and our hearts are broken without him.

Post flyers. Report to shelters, check daily in person, chip company - hope he’s chipped!? Check cameras, homeless encampments. Post to Placer County lost pets groups. So he’s gotten out before?! That is so irresponsible of you! Never ever leave dogs alone outside unattended unsecured! No excuses!

General Information: You dog can follow a familiar scent back home. Set up a scent station. Get a scent that the dog is familiar with out in front of the house (EX Worn clothing / shoes from a family member that the dog lives with.) Hang it out high so that the smell can travel and guide the dog back home. Keep an access point open in case the dog returns. Please post signs with the dogs' picture and your contact information on the sign. Post these signs all over as if someone spots your dog the person can contact you and provide a location of where the dog is. (Not everyone is on Social Media). Ask your neighbors to check their doorbell or house cameras (if applicable), sheds and garage. Owners: Do not try and search for the dog - as your scent travels when you are out and walking all over can confuse the dog. The dog should only smell your scent near your home. Never underestimate the ability of a dog to find their way home using their nose. Call or go to the Animal Shelter in your area and tell them that your dog is missing to see if it has been picked up. Prayers your dog is found safely. Beware of scammers.

If you haven't yet post on the ring camera app, it's called Neighbors. You don't need the camera to use it. I hope this helps.

Please if you haven’t do post on other sites like NEXTDOOR , and local groups. Post flyers because not everyone is on social media. Put some of your dirty laundry outside and hang it so he may pick up your scent and return home. Check your shelters regularly. Praying pup is home safe and sound soon ❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
